Learned from his father and became the second generation of the Kishi School. He participated in the creation of wall paintings for the construction of the Imperial Palace. Specialized in paintings of birds and animals, especially tigers. After the deaths of Ganku and 呉春 Goshun (1752-1811), he became the second generation of the Kishi School and built up a large influence in the Kyoto art world, partly due to his longevity. He inherited Ganku's brushwork, and while he excelled at paintings of tigers and other animals, he also produced a wide range of other works, including mild paintings in the style of the Shijo School, traditional Yamato-e style paintings, and wall paintings in richly colored gold.

with signature 'Chikuzennokami Gantai' 筑前守 岸岱

Whole dimensions: 27.2" W x 82" H / 69.3cm x 208.5cm
Inside dimensions: 19" W x 48.5" H / 48.3cm x 123.3cm

Material: Paper
Technique: Handpainted
Roller ends: Wood

Weight: 1000g

Condition

Antique items have originally crease, stain, damage, and more.
