Ajikata Kaizan 味方海山
味方海山 Ajikata Kaizan (1863-1942)
From an early age, Kaizan drew pictures and characters with his fingertips, and his father, who recognized his talent as a painter, took him under the tutelage of Tanomura Chokunyu, a nanga painter in Kyoto. There, Kaizan studied literati painting, but he persisted in painting with his fingertips. He did not use a brush at all, but instead used his own fingertips to paint, letting his fingers crawl and dance freely
