Fujita Taigan 藤田苔巌

藤田苔巌 Fujita Taigan (1863-1928)
Born in 1863 in Sanuki (Kagawa prefecture) as the eldest son of painter Fujita Taiseki. Studied painting with his father, Chinese studies with Fujisawa Nangaku, and further developed his painting skills with Wang Ji bai. He was particularly good at landscape painting. More than a dozen sliding door paintings remain at Kosho-ji Temple in Kanonji, Kagawa Prefecture.
