Fujiwara Soko 藤原宗興

藤原宗興 Fujiwara Soko (b1865)
Painter of the Meiji era. His family name is Tateri. Descendant of Tateri Munetsugu 立入宗継. Studied calligraphy under Tani Nyoi 谷如意 and Kamiyama Hoyo 神山鳳陽. Studied painting under Kishi Chikudo at the age of 13. At the age of 16, he studied under Murata Kokoku 村田香谷. He always studied the ancient methods of both the northern and southern schools of Japanese Buddhism. Studied waka under Higashi Kuze Chikutei 東久世竹亭.
