Fukada Chokujo 深田直城
深田直城 Fukada Chokujo (1861-1947)
Born in Shiga Prefecture. Studied Shijo School under Morikawa Sobun in Kyoto. Later moved to Osaka and became one of the central figures in the Osaka painting world. He participated in numerous exhibitions and won awards. He was most skillful at sea-fish, but also excelled at landscapes and flower-and-bird paintings. His pupils include Hirai Chokusui, Nakagawa Wado.
