広本進 Hiromoto Susumu (1897-1991)
Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1897. Studied Nanshu-ga under Suzuki Kenzan in 1908. Went to Kyoto to study under Kawamura Manshu and later Yamamoto Shunkyo. Produced the mural painting 'Anraku Gyohon' on the east tower of the Hokke Soji-in temple at Enryaku-ji, Hieizan, in 1980. Awarded the Prime Minister's Prize at the Shinko Bijutsuin Exhibition.
