Kato Bunrei 加藤文麗

加藤文麗 Kato Bunrei (1706-1782)
Painter and Shogunal retainer of the Edo shogunate during the mid-Edo period. He studied under Kano Chikanobu. Specialized in ink painting and excelled in landscapes, flowers and birds, and portraits. Known as the first master of Tani Buncho.
