After graduating from Kyoto University of Art and Design with a degree in Japanese painting, he established his own design studio. As a dyeing artist, he creates unique and creative kimonos. His woodblock prints depicting Kyoto with his unique touch have gained popularity both in Japan and abroad. He has held solo exhibitions in New York and other locations.
