Kawamura Kogai 河村虹外

河村虹外 Kawamura kogai (1861-1932)
Born in Fukui Prefecture in the first year of the Bunkyu era. Studied under the nanga painter Shigeshunto and lived in Kyoto. Won many prizes at the Kyoto New and Old Art Exhibition and the Japan Youth Painting Exhibition. Participated in the formation of the Japan Nanga Association. Specialized in elegant landscape paintings.
