Mori Ippo 森一鳳
森一鳳 Mori Ippo (1798-1872)
Painter of the Mori school in Osaka at the end of the Edo period and the beginning of the Meiji era. He was adopted by 森徹山 Mori Tetsuzan (1775-1841) and learned painting from his foster father. He painted many works with an emotional quality based on sketching and skillfully depicted people, flowers, and birds. He served in the Kumamoto domain. His fellow disciple was 森寛斎 Mori Kansai (1814-1894).
