Nagayama Koin 長山孔寅
長山孔寅 Nagayama Koin (1765-1849)
Shijo School painter and Kyoka poet of from the middle to late in the Edo period. Born in Akita Prefecture. Studied under Matsumura Goshun in Kyoto and later lived in Osaka. He excelled at portraits and flower-and-bird paintings and was also good at Kyoka. In addition to illustrations of Kyoka, he also published Gesaku (popular literature). His pupil was Ueda Kochu.
