Ogata Kenzan 尾形乾山

尾形乾山 Ogata Kenzan (1663-1743)
A Japanese painter and ceramic artist of the mid-Edo period, he is particularly renowned in the field of ceramics. He was the younger brother of Ogata Kōrin and is said to have been influenced by Kōrin. Kenzan achieved considerable success not only in painting but also in ceramics, particularly tea ceremony utensils.
