Ogura Tokei 小倉東渓

小倉東渓 Ogura Tokei (1747-1816) (亀井東渓 Kamei Tokei)
Japanese painter of the late Edo period. Born in Kagawa Prefecture. Studied under Kawamura Wakashiba and later Katsushika Hokusai. Influenced by Tani Buncho and Watanabe Kazan. He admired the style of the 18th century Chinese painter Shen Nampin, who came to Japan, and excelled in colorful flower-and-bird paintings.
