Sano Seiji 佐野せいじ
佐野せいじ Sano Seiji (b 1959)
He is a master painter who specializes in painting peaceful landscapes of satoyama (satoyama is the name given to a region in the Japanese countryside) and is especially good at depicting the beauty of Japan's four seasons and the nostalgic scenes that come to mind for every Japanese.
1959 Born in Shizuoka Prefecture
1984 Started printmaking under Ido Masao
1995 First solo exhibition at Kameyama Gallery in Shizuoka, Japan
1998 Published a collection of his works "Longing for Home Town".
2002 Held an exhibition of creative prints at the Shinjuku Takashimaya Department Store
2004 His works are collected by the Couty Museum of Art, Los Angeles. Exhibited at the CWAJ Contemporary Print Exhibition
2006 His works are collected by the Library of Congress.
2009 Opened a studio in Tenryu-ku, Shizuoka, Japan
