Unkoku Toeki 雲谷等益

雲谷等益 Unkoku Toeki (1591-1644)
Painter of the Unkokuha school, active in the early Edo period. He was the son of Unkoku Togan, and called himself the "Fourth generation of Sesshu". He learned painting from his father at an early age and joined his father's wall-painting projects, learning on the job and expanding his personal network. In 1618, his father Togan died and Toeki took over the Unkoku school.
