浦上玉堂 Uragami Gyokudo (1745-1820)
A retainer of the Bizen Okayama domain. A nanga painter of the late Edo period. While traveling around Japan with his koto (Japanese harp), he produced many paintings and developed his own unique style of landscape painting through self-study. He painted landscapes rich in poetic sentiment, making full use of his unique brush strokes and rhythmic brushwork.
