曾我蕭白 Soga Shohaku (1730-1781)
With his highly individualistic and sharp painting style, he mainly used dark ink and rough brush strokes to create his ink paintings. Painter of the mid-Edo period. He was born in Kyoto in Kyoho 15. He Painting name is Dasokuken 蛇足軒. While boasting a high level of skill in ink and wash painting, he is also known as a painter of strange ideas with an intense style that surprises the viewer.
