Hashidate Shisen 端館紫川

端館紫川 Hashidate Shisen (1855-1921)
An ukiyo-e artist and Japanese-style painter from Mie Prefecture. He was commonly known as Satarō and used the art name Shisen. He studied under Kitamura Toyokage and Kawabata Gyokushō, mastering the Maruyama-Shijō school. He excelled at landscape painting and the "flowers-and-birds" genre.
