Mukai Kuma 向井久万

向井久万 Mukai Kuma (1908-1987)
A Japanese-style painter born in Osaka Prefecture. He graduated from the Department of Design at the Kyoto Higher School of Crafts and studied under 西山翠嶂 Nishiyama Suisho (1879–1958). Focusing primarily on paintings of female nudes and figures, he pursued a unique style of line work and coloration, eventually turning to Buddhist painting in his later years.
