真道黎明 Shindo Reimei (1897-1978)
Real name Shigehiko. Born 21 May 1897 in Udo, Kumamoto, Japan; moved to Tokyo in 1911 and entered the Nihon Gakuen. He studied Japanese painting from 1914 and entered the Japan Art Academy. In 1917, his painting Paulownia Flowers was selected for the first time at the 4th Inten Exhibition, and in 1921 he was nominated as a member of the Nihon Bijutsuin coterie. He studied under Yokoyama Taikan, Yasuda Yukihiko, Kobayashi Kokei and others, and under Katayama Nanpu.
