Suzuki Harunobu 鈴木春信

鈴木春信 Suzuki Harunobu (1725-1770)
A ukiyo-e artist of the mid-Edo period. He gained popularity for his paintings of slender, delicate beauties with delicate expressions, and played a decisive role in the birth of colour woodblock prints, which are the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of ukiyo-e. He had a tremendous influence on the development of ukiyo-e in later years.
