This is a Zen saying that means ‘to sleep with the moon as one’s pillow and the clouds as one’s blanket’. It refers to the ideal state of mind of a spiritual practitioner—living without attachment, embraced by the bosom of nature—and to a life lived in harmony with the natural world.
