大平小洲 Odaira Shoshu (1849-1930)
A painter from Nagano Prefecture, his real name was Shinpachiro. Influenced by his father—a practitioner of the Shijo school—he began painting in childhood and studied under Watanabe Shoka. He specialized in paintings of flowers and birds and produced numerous hanging scroll works.
