四代永澤永信 Nagasawa Eishin Ⅳ (b1938)
Born in 1938 in the town of Izushi, Izushi County (now Toyooka City), Hyogo Prefecture, to a family of potters who had passed down the tradition of Izushi pottery from generation to generation. Impressed by the ceramic works of Tomimoto Kenkichi, he learnt the basics of pottery from Tomimoto, and in 1965 he was selected for the Nitten exhibition for the first time; in 1979 he assumed the name Eishin IV, and in 1995 and 2000 he was awarded a special prize at the Nitten exhibition.
出石焼 Izushi ware is porcelain fired in the area around the town of Izushi, Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture. Also called Izushi white porcelain.
