岸良 Ganryo Japanese antique art kakejiku kakemono wall hanging scroll / Crow & Persimmon with Box A177
Studied under 岸駒 Ganku (1756-1749), married his daughter, and became son-in-law. He worked for the Arisugawa family. He is said to have excelled in portraits and flower-and-bird paintings. Although he is not as prominent as 岸岱 Gantai (1782-1865), the second generation of the Kishi School, he is a skilled painter, and in addition to his family's signature tiger paintings, he also does realistic paintings with rich colors in the style of the Nanpin School. Along with Gantai, he supported the Kishi School after the death of Ganku.
