鈴木其一 Suzuki Kiitsu (1796-1858) Japanese antique art kakejiku kakemono wall hanging scroll / Flying Five Cranes, Rising Sun, and Pine with Box RA188
Painter of the late Edo period. Studied under Sakai Hoitsu. After Hoitsu's death, he gradually departed from Hoitsu's style, and his painting style became more bold and innovative with a decorative touch, eliminating the lyrical element from his paintings. He was most noted for his flower-and-bird paintings, but his unique sense of form, in which he pursued the forms of his subjects with clarity, made him unique in the Rin-pa school of painters.
