Born in Chiba Prefecture in 1899 (Meiji32). Studied at Kawabata School of Painting. Studied under Tsutaya Ryukou and Shimada Bokusen. Specialized in portraits and landscapes. He was active in the Teiten, Bunten, and Nihon Nanga Inten exhibitions.
