This hanging scroll depicts a serene and atmospheric scene of the moon partially veiled by drifting clouds, rendered with subtle ink washes and restrained brushwork that emphasize silence and depth. The softly emerging moon evokes themes of impermanence, quiet contemplation, and the beauty found in what is only partially revealed, a sensibility closely aligned with traditional East Asian aesthetics. The work is signed and sealed “Sekikō” (石香) and is dated August 1914 (Taishō 3), placing it in the early Taishō period.
