A painter of Southern School style active in the early Shōwa period. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1899. Studied under Mizuta Chikuho to master Southern School painting. Selected for the Imperial Exhibition six times.

This finely painted hanging scroll depicts a serene blue-and-green landscape by Murakami Randen (born 1899), rendered in the classical seiryoku sansui style.
