四天王 Shitenno (Four Heavenly Kings)
The Four Heavenly Kings are considered to be the guardian deities in Buddhism, living in the middle of Mount Shumisen and serving the Taishakuten-帝釈天 to protect the Dharma of Buddha. Statues of the Four Heavenly Kings are usually represented as dressed in armour and trampling on evil demons.
1. 多聞天（毘沙門天）Tamonten (Vaisravana): Guardian Deity Protecting the North. Often Worshipped Alone.
2. 増長天 Zochoten: Guardian Deity Protecting the South.
3. 持国天 Jikokuten: Guardian Deity Protecting the East.
4. 広目天 Komokuten: Guardian Deity Protecting the West.
