Kikyoku is one of the tea utensils used in the sencha tea ceremony. The word "kyoku" means "room. In other words, it means "a room for sencha utensils. It is rectangular in shape. It has two shelves assembled in two stages, with a lid in the front. Some are shaped with a handle at the top for carrying. It is exclusively used as furniture to display tea utensils like a chest.
The drawers have no handles and are pushed out with the fingers through holes in the back.
