Toso utensils are used at New Year's and festive occasions. A set of utensils for drinking sake called "toso sake is made by soaking herbal medicines in sake, etc., and is drunk at New Year's to pray for good health and longevity. It consists of a sake bottle (choshi), a toso stand (toso-dai), a sake cup (sakazuki), and a sake cup stand (sakazuki-dai).
