四国八十八ヶ所
Shikoku 88 Buddhist Temples is the collective name for 88 Buddhist temples on Shikoku related to Kukai 空海 (Kobo Daishi) and is the most representative of the Shikoku sacred places. The pilgrims travel 1,450 kilometers to Tokushima Awa, Kochi Tosa, Ehime Iyo, and Kagawa Sanuki, and finally to Koyasan. It is said that human beings have 88 worldly desires and that by visiting 88 Shikoku Sacred Sites, these desires will disappear and one's wishes will be fulfilled.
