Mino ware
Mino ware is the general term for pottery produced in Tajimi City, Toki City, Mizunami City and Kasahara Town in the eastern part of the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture, at the western end of what is known as the Tono region. The region is rich in clay, the raw material for pottery, and fuel for firing kilns, and pottery production began in the Kofun period. Since modern times, independent production areas have been established in each of the mountain basins formed by the Toki River and its tributaries, up to the present day.

Shino ware (Shino-yaki) is Japanese pottery, usually stoneware, originally from Mino Province, in present-day Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is identified by thick white glazes, red scorch marks, and a texture of small holes.
