He is known for creating hand-painted color-enamel ceramics decorated with vivid pigments and gold detailing, a style characteristic of modern Kyoto decorative ware. Okumura frequently used natural motifs such as hydrangea, plum blossoms, and foliage, applying rich overglaze enamels and gold lines to achieve a vibrant, elegant surface. His works are typically signed “考造 (Kozo)” with a red seal “考”, and many pieces come with a signed wooden box (tomobako), indicating studio-made artist ware rather than mass production.
