千住博 Senju Hiroshi (b1958) Original Lithograph - 'Tsuki Michiru'「月満ちる」(The Moon becomes Full) - 57/450 NW873

千住博 Senju Hiroshi (b1958)
A contemporary Japanese painter from Tokyo. He is internationally renowned for his sublime, monumental-scale works depicting waterfalls and cliffs. In 1995, he became the first Asian artist to receive the Honorary Prize in the Painting category at the Venice Biennale. He has created numerous works and held solo exhibitions.

This work is unmistakably an original lithograph by Senju Hiroshi (b.1958), titled “Tsuki Michiru” (“The Moon Becomes Full”), numbered 57/450. Known worldwide for his monumental waterfall paintings and his refined sense of atmosphere, Senju brings the same meditative clarity to this smaller-format print. The composition—quiet silhouettes, layered tones, and a luminous celestial presence—reflects his ability to distill nature into something both serene and emotionally resonant. Senju, the first Asian artist to receive the Honorary Prize for Painting at the Venice Biennale, has long explored the relationship between light, space, and perception. This lithograph captures that sensibility in a distilled, intimate form, offering a moment of stillness shaped by his contemporary yet deeply Japanese aesthetic.
