Urasenke is a branch of the Senke school of Tea Ceremony. It was founded by Soshitsu, the fourth son of Sotan, grandson of Sen no Rikyu. The name "Urasenke" comes from the fact that the tea ceremony house "Konnichian" (tea house), which was given to Soshitsu by his father, is located behind the main house.
