Hotei:
He is said to have been an eccentric monk who wandered around with a large belly and a cloth bag containing all his daily necessities in search of donations. His blessed and virtuous appearance and the fact that he was often surrounded by children became a topic of conversation for many people, and he was depicted in paintings and poetry. He is also said to be an incarnation of Miroku Bosatsu, the god of good health and prosperity.
