The White-Robed Kannon (Byaku-e Kannon / Byaku-i Kannon) is one of the manifestations of the Bodhisattva Kannon, depicted as a compassionate figure clad in a white robe from head to toe who alleviates the suffering of the people. It is also counted among Japan’s “Thirty-Three Kannon."

関牧翁 Seki Bokuou (1903-1991)
Head of the Tenryuji School of the Rinzai Sect. The 241st generation of Tenryuji. He revised the Tenryuji rules and religious system and was known as a free-spirited Zen master.
