In Zen, it expresses 和 wa (harmony or peace). It has no beginning and end, you may judge as you like, it can be sometimes seen as moon. Enso is a circle that is hand drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.

明歴々 露堂々 Meirekireki Rododo
The phrase "Meirekireki Rododo 明歴々 露堂々" means "bright, clear, and unmistakable, with nothing to hide. What is called the truth of the world is not hidden somewhere, but appears as it is from the beginning, and the mind that realizes it is what is important.
