紫岡宗琳 Shioka Sorin (1781-1850)
He was a painter of the Nanpin school who was active during the late Edo period. He also went by the name So Shiko; his given name was Rin, his courtesy name was Gyokurin, and his art names were Choshodo and Sekkei. He belonged to a family of Nanpin school painters—a style characterized by realism and introduced from China—with So Shiseki as his grandfather and So Shizan as his father.
