金井烏洲 Kanai Uju (1796-1857)
A leading Nanga painter of the late Edo period, he was born in Gunma Prefecture and studied painting under Haruki Nanko (1759–1839). In addition to landscape and bird-and-flower painting, he was also accomplished in poetry and prose.
