Yamada Kaido 山田介堂
山田介堂 Yamada Kaido (1869-1924) A Japanese painter active during the Meiji and Taisho periods. He travelled extensively throughout the country, studying under artists such as Tomioka Tessai, Hosoya Ritsusai, and Hirano Gogaku. He received numerous awards at the Bunten exhibitions and, in 1921, founded the Nihon Nanga-in (Japanese Southern Painting Institute) with Tanaka Chikuson and Ikeda Keisen.
