Japanese painter of the Meiji and early Showa periods. Born in Nagano Prefecture. Studied literati painting under Araki Kanpo. Specialized in Sansui landscape and flower-and-bird paintings. Won many prizes at the Bunten Exhibition.

This elegant hanging scroll by Ikegami Shuho (1874–1944), dated Summer 1936 (丙子夏日), presents a refined composition of white plum blossoms, crimson camellias, and a mountain bird perched quietly among the branches.
