A refined hanging scroll depicting Mount Fuji rising above a tranquil sea of clouds, accompanied by wind-shaped pine trees rendered with quiet restraint. The composition balances expansive negative space with carefully observed natural forms, allowing the softly contoured peak of Fuji to emerge with dignified calm. Executed on silk with a delicate hand, the work reflects the literati sensibility of Kumazawa Koho, whose paintings often fuse scholarly elegance with close observation of nature. The pine trees, bent by unseen winds, introduce gentle movement and seasonal atmosphere, enhancing the contemplative mood suggested by the late-autumn inscription.
